Konoba Astarea
Old paintings, handmade curtains and Istrian handiwork offer a perfect background
for a unique dinning expirience, whether it is a leisure meal or special occasion
you want to share with your family or friends. This popular restaurant is located
on the road that leads from Buje to Novigrad and the sea. The focal-point of the
whole place is a big open-log fire. This is where the proprietor Anton Kenjus prepares
different specialties in a traditional way. House specialty is apple pie done under čripnja.
The menu is prediominately, but not exclusively based around the fish and sea food
on which the Kernjus family have made their name. You will find all the food prepared
with imagination and panache, but also with a respect for natural tastes and textures
of the very finest Istrian products. Tickle your taste buds with grilled fresh fish
(offer may vary from day to day depending on the day's catch), lamb prepared in earthenware,
and black rissotto with sea food. Those who prefer to sit outside – on the terrace – should
reserve their table in advance. The staff speaks fluent German.
