Konoba Astarea

Brtonigla, a village situated near the Istrian town of Buje, can be recognized by many good quality restaurants. Fish restaurant - Konoba Astarea, located directly by the main road leading from Buje towards Novigrad and the sea, stands out among them for its style and character.

Astarea opened its doors for the first time in 1980 with captain Orepić Pero, who built the longstanding tradition and successfully guided business until 1995 when guided by the same spirit and enthusiasm the Kernjus family took over, led by Anton Kernjus.

Brtonigla and its surroundings are famous for production of fine wines and excellent olive oil. Novigrad, a small seaside resort, is situated only few kilometers away, and it is there where the Kernjus's purchase their daily supply of fresh fish and sea food. Fresh sea food , excellent wine, pure olive oil and culinary expertise of Antun Kernjus make it possible for Astarea to surprise their faithful visitors over and over again with gourmet prepared food.
